Eyes & Hair .. uhmm Help?

Ok ready for werid?


I was born a little... uhm different.
I have two different colored eyes. One is brillant blue the other is nearly black, brown.
I also have a ....uh... premature graying..sort of.
I have what people want to say is a gray streak except it's not a solid streak of white. It's a concentrated area of 80% white (not gray) near my crown.
I'm 28 (in Aug) and so of course gray is starting to pop up sporadically elsewhere.

A) Color or not? the hair. My MOH, bless her, loves my white. It's distinctive against my black hair and she always plays with it. (We are talking about a 28 yr old mother mind you). She wants to know if I can play it into a curl in my updo. Make it stand out.

Any Thoughts?


B) Ah, the life long issue with my eyes. Mascara makes me look like a lopsided raccoon. Blue gets over emphasized. In college I used to do this thing with my eyeliner. Like the top of my brown (left) and the bottom of my blue to balance them. They are an optical illusion. One always seems smaller/bigger than the other (they're the same size). Corals and really neutral colors are alright.

Any thoughts?

With the eyes, have you thought about a color contacts? make them both blue or both brown. You dont need to have a prescription to get contacts. As for the hair I cant really give an opinion, I dont know what you look like.

I think if you find the right sylists and make-up artists you'll end up with something perfect. I would suggest going for trials early, and maybe go to several different people to get a feel for what can be done. There's lots of vendors on here to choose from, and the LIW ladies have lots of great suggestions!

My gymnastics coach in high school had the same type of streak in her hair, and everyone loved it. She was so pretty and her hair made her really stand out! She used to just part her hair where the streak was and it fell together very nicely. I think it's important to look like yourself on your wedding day, so I wouldn't stray too far from the norm and have it colored or anything.

You sound gorgeous, by the way! I don't look like the 'average' person either, since I come from a mixed background, so I definitely have an appreciation for unique individuals. Post your trial pics when they come up, I'd love to see them!

I would say don't color your hair. It's who you are, and you want to look like you on your wedding day, don't you? But at the same time, if it is something that will make you uncomfortable or self conscious, coloring would be an option.
As for your eyes, I think you are lucky to have such unique features, but if it concerns you, experiment with your make up to get a look you are comfortable with. If you are having your make-up done, I'm sure a professional would have suggestions to balance them out.
I'm sure you will be beautiful no matter what look you choose!

I don't know what you look like either and I'm not sure from your post what you're comfortable with and that is the most important thing...you must do what you want and what you like.

If it were me, I would not have my gray hair stand out on my wedding day of all days by playing it into a curl or something...I would either have it completely covered, or just naturally have it blended into the hairdo.

As for my makeup, I would ask a makeup artist to show me what they can do with colors to have my eyes not stand out so much as being colored differently. I'm sure this is something they've dealt with before and may know what to do.

Don't laugh tho. It was like 3 year ago and I was hanging out with some friends in Orlando. We had all just gotten back from the pool.

Colored contacts. Nope, no way , no how. First off if I put blue on brown is DARK blue, if I put brown on blue it's lightish brown. There is no real way to match them up. Secondly, I wear clear contacts now. I spent YEARS of being hasseled by brats and bullies for being a freak. I'm proud of my eyes and will keep them they way they are. I fear I'll be at a dozen trials!!! Hehe..

There's a model on the cover of this month's Self Magazine that has two different colored eyes - one blue and one brown. Let me see if I can find a picture of her. With her makeup, it's not so noticeable, but then again the makeup is done by a professional.

I wouldn't touch the grey streak in your hair. It's who you are.

no colored contacts... i happen to think its so cool to have two different colored eyes (Look at David Bowie)... call me weird, but i always wanted two diff colored eyes.

I agree with all the 'stay as you are' comments.. im sure a professional will know how to compliment your eyes without having one overpower the other.

First of all, you started the thread by writing, 'OK ready for wierd'.....Although not too common, these things are not wierd!

I'm sure that you are a beautful person...these things about yourself that you describe are what make you you! I think it's strange when a bride tries to change things about herself for her wedding day. If you are unhappy with your eyes, or your hair, then by all means, there are things you can do to change them, but if they are things that you like...I would keep them just the way they are!!!

It's actually a syndrome. Waardenburg Syndrome, for those who want to spend dull reading time. I'm type II, with only pigmentation symptoms. It's another reason I'm getting married in fall. My blue eyes has white patches for it's retna. Sunlight is often painful for me. To compromise, I'm having a fall daytime wedding!

I have a second cousin with the same thing I have. But she's blonde. Actually this year I went wild and renewed my drivers license (it was due actually) with Blue for eye color. Lady at the counter looked at me funny. In Texas, where I'm from, my license just read MUL - Multi. NYS really needs to catch up!!
