I'm not on the train right now, but I hear ya! My 57 minute train to Huntington routinely takes at least 1.5 hours to get me there.

I understand. And to think we pay $$$$ for the monthly service too. Sometimes i wonder if it is cheaper to drive.

I used to take the port washington line when i lived in bayside and it was pretty awesome. Once we moved to LI i took the oyster bay line and it would be delayed nearly everytime it rained.

I HATED it and the monthly pass isn't cheap.

i hate mass transit. I drove into work all this week, I found a cheap parking garage near Grand Central in midtown. $19 if you get in before 10 am...I cant stomach delays on the LIRR or subway..I wish I could work outside NYC.

I used to have to take that train when I went to stony brook! I was NEVER in class on time.

Re: F* YOU LIRR!!

That is one of the MANY reasons why I stopped working in the city!! My favorite part of riding the LIRR was waiting for the train home in Penn. Once they announced the train I would buck it down stairs & fight to get as close to the platform edge as without being pushed into the tracks. I felt like we were all lemmings and it was survival of the fittest!!!!

I better get home on time today. 2 days in a row is too much 3 would be h*ll!

I hate the LIRR! We pay so much for it and if you catch it during peak, you could be standing for a good 30-45 min depending on where you are - or even more! I try to catch the later trains in the AM and the later trains at night to avoid the headache!

I hate it when the LIRR gets packed after a concert or a game at MSG - loud and obnoxious drunk!!

Re: F* YOU LIRR!!

does anyone know what happened at Penn on Wednesday? I know there were delays on the train due to someone getting hit at Kew Gardens, but they closed the entrances to Penn around 5:50!!! I had to go to THREE different gates to find one that was open. They wouldn't give any information!!! Then I got on a train car that had the HEAT ON!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? FH had a seat but he was in the front, and I was in the back- he was like 'Just walk up to me'....
