Okay...second update of the day: all circles are cut, three hanging fabric pomanders are complete! I need to make a total of 18 for the church (alternating pews on both sides). It is definitely time consuming but they are gorgeous when you finish! A few things I realized: 1) I did them in white which will probably make it easier to re-sell them after my wedding because someone can just swap out the colored ribbon for their color. 2) DO NOT get a fresh manicure the day before gluing...I've accumulated more glue on my nails than the stupid pomanders.
Good luck if you undertake them - well worth the time and effort! Plus if you wait for a 60% off coupon for Joann's fabric, they are ultra affordable! :) A pic of the completed ones will be in my album!

Decorations to hang on the ends of the church rows (instead of bows)!

I wanted to make this for my wedding too in either white or an off white color. I saw someone else on here make them. They are really really nice and better than using flowers, which get used for not even an hour and die the next day. What type of fabric did you use?
I just checked online and saw that there is a Jo'Anne Fabrics right by my job. I'm so excited. Now I know where to go to get fabric.

Joann's is running a 60% coupon this week too off of one fabric order! I ordered 20 yards (and cut them yard by yard myself so that I could maximize the coupon) of white muslin cloth (spelling?). It was $2.99 a yard...definitely no reason to use the stuff that is $7.99 and up per yard.

Thanks so much! I wanted a fabric that would hold its shape until next year. Can't wait to start these. Did you get the styrofoam balls from that store too? Do i need to use a certain glue? Also, what sizes were the circles you cut?

I did - I bought 4 inch styrofoam balls there and cur my circles to be 4 inch circles. Here is the site I used for step by step instructions: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/how-to-make-fabric-pomanders
