So both my FIL and his wife have asked me to be their facebook friends and I'm just not sure I'm down with it. . but do I just ignore their requests? I just don't feel like I need to have them seeing all my pics and updates etc. . DH is friends with them and got all offended when I said I didn't want to be but I just feel like I don't need them as my friends. . what do you think? is that rude of me?

ooh thats tough. I get were you are coming from but I think ignoring them may not go over to big. I wouldn't want to be friends with mine.

Can't you do like, a 'limited' profile? I think you can. (I've never had the need to so I don't know for sure.) I am friends with FMIL as well as FH's aunt and I just try to be mindful of that and not post any statuses about FH and I getting it on or anything like that!

My parents are on facebook and DH and I are friends with them but dh NEVER uses facebook so he really doesn't care. I would probably do a limited profile... At least that way they wont get offended and you can still keep some things private.

Totally agree on the limited profile!! I am friends with some clients on FB and it's a good way to stay connected without revealing too much...

Re: facebook your inlaws!!??
I'm friends with my MIL... but both of my parents, a lot of my aunts and uncles and even my GRANDMA has FB so I've gotten used to not posting anything I wouldn't want them to see. (And I'm pretty boring, so that isn't too much. )

Re: facebook your inlaws!!??
Yeah I guess I can do a limited profile. . it's not like they can't handle stuff on FB. . trust me they have done WORSE than I ever have/will. . I guess it's just about privacy and not feeling like I want/need to share with them. . so i guess it can't hurt. . I mean they are both very nice people. . it just seems to be that FB was about my friends you know. . I guess it so doesn't matter in the long run. ..
thanks for letting me bounce this off you girls!

Re: facebook your inlaws!!??
I had this same problem with my MIL...I ended up blocking her from seeing my updates and all that jazz...and I recently unblocked her...but that might change, lol
Too close for comfort for me. My FIL will never be on.

Oh I know how you feel....my DHs whole family is on there...and they all requested me. I did add them, but I do feel funny putting my updates out there. DH's brother will call MIL and say...'oh, whats wrong with amber, her status said shes upset today'...?????? Haha...seriously. If you can avoid it, I would. If they ask...say you never got the request, haha.
