Well, I've been tracking my period over the last 6 months or so, I don't want it for the wedding or the honeymoon! It looks like I will be getting it the sunday before the wedding (9th) (wedding is on friday the 14th) Usually is is over by wednesday, thrusday the latest. Now do I just let things happen as they may, or do you think I should skip the placibo pills this month and bump it up a week? I've never done that before, and am scared, I am just going to screw up my whole schedule, and wind up with my period anyway. I need to make the decision today! I am supposed to start the placibo pills today. YIKES! Talk about cutting it close.
What would you do? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance!µ

I would if I had a choice to do it. Call your doctor and ask what to do exactly so you do it right. I am not on the pill and couldnt so I got mine for the wedding and was very sad. Good luck!

I would just skip the placebo....with the stress of the wedding, your period might be late anyway....

I've spoken with the doctor last month about this, just to make sure I would be doing it correctly. Thanks for your concern though.

I'd try to bump it up two weeks... the way you described it, you would only bump it up one and get it during your HM.... talk about a mood killer

just remember that though your period has been regular, the month before the wedding is pretty hectic and things can change. mine was so regular but the wedding month it was delayed 3 weeks out of nowhere!!

Re: Faced with dilema-need advice-girlie problem
Have you ever skipped the placebo pills before? I know it works for some, but then for others, it can cause longer periods or spotting for about two weeks. If you're on the Pill, doesn't it always come on the Sunday? Is it ever late? If you get it on Sunday, it should be gone by Thursday.
Here's what I have done to make my period come a day earlier because I've been doing this each month, so that mine lands on coming on the Sunday. I just skip one of the light blue pills. Like throw one out and take the one for the next day instead, and so on. This makes it come a day earlier. I started out in December getting it on Thursday night. Now I've done it for two months, so it comes on Tuesday nights now. Two more months of doing this, and I will reach my getting it on Sunday night goal which is what I prefer.

Re: Faced with dilema-need advice-girlie problem
My wedding day is the Friday the 14th
My scheduled period date is Sunday the 9th--it would be over by Thrusday the 13th
If I skip the placebo pills supposedly I would get my period on Sunday the 2nd--it would be over by Thrusday the 6th.
Am I wrong? That is what my doctor told me anyways.
I've never done this before, and my period sucks as it is. It is never late (it's like clockwork) but I spot all the time! :( Except for right after my period is over. This is why I am considering, just letting things happen without changing my pill schedule.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
What to do??????????????
There are only 2 months left before the wedding, and I am faced with the decision today! Because I am up to my placebo pills today.l

Why not just skip the placebo's right before the wedding instead of now?
If you stayed on track now, when would your last 'real' pill be before the wedding?

Re: Faced with dilema-need advice-girlie problem
I skipped the placebo pills for the last two months and although I have moved everything up two weeks I have not had a great reaction.
My chest is killing me...its about a size larger and hurts more than it has ever before. I also spot for about a week which is no fun I can't wait to get back on track...I left myself two normal cycles to get back to normal.
The doctor just said to skip the placebos and everything will be fine....they never mentioned these nasty side effects.

What do you mean 'real' pill?
I think I am just going to stay on schedule. I don't want to have all the side effects. Cause I know I will, I am prone to problems! :(w

I think you should just keep it the way it is if you're always on time. Skipping the placebo pills can backfire, and I think it'd be better to possibly have it still on the Friday than have spotting and who knows what the whole honeymoon? Especially if most of the time it's done by Thursday. Just try to control yourself from stressing too much since stress can make it come later, but it'd have to be really extreme stress to cause it to be late if you're always on time on the pill.
Did you ask your doctor about skipping one of the blue pills that might cause you to get it on Saturday instead? It works for me.

Re: Faced with dilema-need advice-girlie problem
I never asked about skipping the blue pill, maybe I will try that on my next pill pack. If I get my period this sunday, then I definately know that everything is on track and normal. I definately don't want to alter this to be worse! Any you know what if god forbid I have my period for my wedding and honeymoon, future hubby will understand. I just wanted to be carefree on my honeymoon!

Re: Faced with dilema-need advice-girlie problem
Well it also depends on the type of pills you take. If they are 3 phased, you will only be delaying it by one week, and the second week you will spot, b/c the pills are a diff level of hormones each week. I heard the obgyn can give you a shot (kinda like a weak depo shot) that will make you skip all month. I just did the skipping thing, and found this all out the hard way. I have 3 phase pills and 2 weeks after skipping I was spotting so bad it was almost like having my period anyway! Now I am back on track and have my period and It's really heavy and I am so tired and crampy. Last nite I fell asleep at 8 pm and slept till 7 am today, then fell back asleep for 2 hours after that! I usually get my period on tues/wed after taking the last active pill (sat) and it will be gone by the monday after that (the day after I take the first active pill (sun) again. Active pill is what everyone is calling the 'real' pill. The 'sugar' pill is the week of non active ones...usually green colored.

Ever since I've been doing skipping the pill the last 3 months, my periods are actually shorter. I remember when I got it Wednesday night, it was gone by Saturday night already.
