Facial?

Facial?

So I'm thinking of having a facial done with a peel and microderm compenent before the wedding at Bliss. I've had moderate acne almost my whole like (since early teens) and needless to say there is some light scarring that I'm not happy with. I really want my skin to look its best and I think this might be a good option.

BUT my skin is also very sensitive so I'm not sure how far in advance to schedule the facial. I want to look glowy the day of, but I don't want to have a bad reaction and look like Samantha from Sex and the City when she had a peel and then had to go to a part looking like a hot mess lol.

Any advice? Thanks!

Facial?

I would say 2 weeks before. 1 week is cutting it way too closely. After two weeks, it should settle down, and you should still have a fresh look!

I had a facial once and I broke out. So I think 2 weeks before is a good enough amount of time for it to heal.

I agree with everyone else. At least 2 weeks before your wedding. When I got my facial at my place they asked me when was my wedding date because they didnt want to do it to close.

just be real careful - maybe go talk with a dermatologist first. you might find that one treatment won't do the trick - i was breaking out very severely too and was getting monthly facials for 10 months prior. but its best to talk to a dermatologist first.

i really loved dr. cameron rokshar in garden city/manhattan.

Facial?

I did mine the week of my wedding (3 dats before), but that's because I'm a risk taker haha even my DOC was like 'ohhhh you are DARING!' haha.... In reality it was because the week of my wedding was the only time I had off to relax and get all of that stuff done and my skin looked great on my wedding day. But really I'd say the smart thing to do would get it done about a week and a half-2 weeks before to be safe!

If your skin is very sensitive and your worried about a reaction I'd actually do it about 3 wks to a month before. I wouldn't want to risk it, especially since you are talking about a peel. If it were just a reg facial then I'd say 1-2 wks before.

I have to agree....I used to break out horribly and facials only made it worse. The only thing that ever worked for me was a prescription face wash and ziana gel....my skin looked awesome in about a week. Obviously, not everyone has the same skin, but a good derm should be able to give you something to clear you right up AND might be able to recommend a quick fix for the scarring.

Yeah I have a derm appointment in about a week so I think I'll just see what she recommends. She gave me a new prescription recently and it's not really helping. Effing adult acne lol

i know - i was having the same problems. and actually, i discovered that i was breaking out due to dairy (milk products). when i stop eating them, its like clockwork - my skin immediately cleared up. might not hurt to try that for a few days and see what happens.

i can give you the name of my asthetician. she's amazing - very knowedgeable about skin conditions and knows what will help/harm you.

My makeup artist told me not to get a facial up to 4 weeks before
