facial advise please?

Hi girls!

I was supposed to get a 'trial facial' a while ago to see how my skin would react to it, but work decided to ship me to Pittsburgh for a while (nothing like unexpectedly spending a significant time out of state a few months prior to your wedding!) and it never happened. I'm getting married on Friday and I'm thinking it's a bad idea to get one now. I've never gotten one before.

Opinions? Anything else I should consider to 'perk up' my skin?

I have heard that you should never get a facial a week before your wedding or do anything out of the ordinary...just in case you have a reaction.

I wouldn't recommend getting one so close to your wedding date. Sometimes facials can be super exfoliating, which makes your skin look a little flaky over the next few days. I definitely think you should get one eventually, just wait until after your big day!

In the meantime, you could give yourself a 'home facial'. I like to hold my head over steaming hot water (I fill up the sink and hold a towel over my head so that the steam doesn't escape) which opens up my pores. Then I'll use a good exfoliant and scrub away, also attacking any little blackheads that I might have. I follow up with a mud mask, then when that comes off I finish with a soothing toner and some motisturizing lotion. I like to give myself facials once a month.

If you're worried about overdoing it, just skip the first few steps and give yourself a mask treatment and use a good toner.

Im gonna let you in on my little glow secret - 30 splashes.

I use an efoliating wash with a facial brush right now I'm into dermalogica rice exfoliator (dont use if you have sensitive skin I use cetaphil when I am feeling sensitive) I use the brush alittle warm water and cleanser in circular motion on my face

then splash 15 times with hot water - as hot as you can stand it (again is your skin is sensitive be VERY careful) then I splash 15 times with Ice cold water.

This is a tad Mommie dearist I realize but it makes my skin gourgeous I do it every night .

Good luck - oh and maybe use a mositeriser with alittle glow power for your Wday

definitely wouldn't recommend the facial if you haven't had one before. i'm getting one wednesday, but i also got one a couple weeks ago and didn't have any reactions. other people gave good advice
