Facial recommendation

Facial recommendation

I know theres a few girls who were interested in getting facials and a few were looking for locations in manhattan...Well yesterday i went to Kimara Ahnert salon, and had a facial done with this lady named Lidia since she came very highly recommended and is said to be great with problematic skin. First ill say the place is so nice, its all antique french furniture and downstairs is the make up studio which actually specializes in wedding make up.

Anyways on the 2nd floor they do all the facials and body wraps and whatever.

First she waxed my eyebrows, then after she put the steam on or a few minutes...then she took out the needle to get rid of all my whiteheads and pimples although at this point didnt have alot but i have so many little white heads underneath my skin and its so annoying, ive had the needle thing done before and yeah its not pleasant lol, she also took out every blackhead on my nose, which the nose is the most painful. After that she used this thing called high frequency, which is this long tube attached to a machine at the end its a round ball with electric currents going through it and they rub this all over your face but you dont feel anything. Then she put a mask on my face and left it on for 10 mins, she washed it off and put this serum on my face followed by some type of cream that i left on and she said not to wash off that night.

Here are a couple things she told me about breakouts and bad skin...first she said by my cheeks i had the most whiteheads and she said this is due alot to talking on the phone...she said theres all this bacteria on the phone and we sit there with it on our face...also she asked me if i drink soda, coffee, eat pizza, chocolate and things like that. She really knows alot and you can tell shes not just someone who puts a mask on to make you pretty when you walk out but really gets to the root of the problem...she also said she wont massage my face right now bc i still have some pimples on my face and if you massage it then you stimulate something in your face(forgot the name, some medical term) and it can cause a break out. Also here is something for smokers, or those with dull skin. She said that when you smoke or your skin is dull, your pores are all closed up and we'll use products on our face to help but it wont do a great job bc only about 20% of the product is effective, you need to have your pores open and oxygenated or something like that lol.

She also gave me 5 products...2 things i use everyday, i put a serum on in the morning and put it on while i have damp skin so it gets into the skin better...then this cream that looks like a concealer so this morning i used that as make up which is great and of course oil free...I also have a camphor mask which ill use once a week, then a glycolic cream also once a week and a benzoyl face cleansesr every other day...She told me to come in every 4 weeks, and also she'll see how my skin is next time and maybe she'll do a peel.

Honestly you already see such a difference, i didnt realize at first how dull my skin got, now it looks so smooth, fresh and just overall better, even FH said last night wow your skin looks so much better.

Sorry i made this long lol. The place is located on madison avenue between 83rd and 84th street. Ill post the site, some of the facials are a little more than some places, if you scroll down there are some for less.

Yeah, Im willing to try anything at this point as well. I just want smooth, clear, not red, no pimple skin , when I cover it up with makeup you cant see a thing but when I dont have any makeup on

Ive heard that too with the phone and the bacteria thats on there. Also I drink ALOT of coffee and eat alot of crap. They say what you intake is a result of what is on your face

yeah the make up is a big problem too...so for now im using the benzoyl cream she gave me that can be used as concealer but is oil free...im also gonna go to sephora this weekend and buy all new make up, everything oil-free, or the bare minerals. OR i might go to the place i got my facial to get make up, they do a custom made foundation for you so this way itll be something thats good for my skin...also when i talk on the phone i wont put it against my face and also use anti bacterial wipes to clean it everyday...Oh and no more soda lol

And im gonna make sure to go every 4 weeks

yeah infact she also told me that when you get large inflamed blemishes most of the time its an internal problem, she said she'll see how i am on my next visit and if i do continue to get those which she says are an infection, she will put me on some pills since its internal

i only use concealer too, i dont like any liquid foundation, but the concealer is oily. Its a benzoyl mix not straight up or anything like that bc otherwise i wouldnt be told to keep it on my face all day, its an oil free cream that is my skin color and i just put it all over and it even acts as make up bc it does cover up.

Oh you know what else is a problem and a big one, blush brushes or anything you use to put make up on...i saw on tyra one time all this make up info, they took womans make up in the audience and tested it in the lab, those brushes end up having soooo much bacteria in there it was DISGUSTING, like living organisms so they say to throw out a blush brush after like 3-6 months, which ugh mine is kinda old...also same with mascara, lipsticks and all make up they say to throw out after a few months

OMG YESSS this is true. I only use this one blush brush when I go out, I just wipe it on a damp towel before I use it and the next day I can see a reaction, but I still use it anyways, that is soo bad, if I had a microscope there will prob be 1000 living bacterias in there

Re: Facial recommendation

That's great! Sounds like she did everything right... I had a lot of problems with my skin a few years ago and went to Mario Badescu & to the derm for shots when I had breakouts. Now, my skin is much much better. Glad you found a place that works for you and eases your mind... I know how it feels!
