i know i am grasping for straws here, but i took a hpt today (aim stick) and it was a BFN...and just out of curiosity, i took it out of the garbage just now (three hours later) and saw a faint line....

Re: faint line after three hours?
It's a 50/50 chance at this point, so you'll have to take the test again. I had a friend take the test, and it was -, then she took out of the trash the next day, and it was +. She was pregnant. However, I also had another friend that got the + hours later, and she wasn't pregnant.
All HPT say that you shouldn't read results after 15-20 mins after use because the results wouldn't be as accurate. Good luck, and I hope you get the result you'd like.

Could be an 'evaporation line' from the liquid drying on the tester. Take a fresh test in a day or two. Good luck!

That's a hard one. Could be what they call an evaporation line that appears about an hour or so after you take the test (that's why they warn not to look at it afte 20 minutes). But, then again, I remember I tested myself on 1/7 and I got a BFN, and then I tested again on 1/10 and got a faint BFP. I saved the tests (yes, I'm a dork), and I was looking at them the other day and now both appear to have a faint line even though I SWEAR the one on 1/7 didn't have one right after I took it. I would wait a day or so and take another, just to be sure.

I agree about the evaporation line. That's why they say to throw the test away after 20 minutes...I had this happen the first month I thought I was PG and I called the 1-800 # and talked to the customer service and they said to throw it away and that it wouldn't be accurate.
I would say test again with a 'Pregnant' or 'Not Pregnant' test. There is no confusion there!!!
