So FH and I were discussing the flowers and are ready to book with a company. One of the issues that was raised were the bouts for the GM and the fathers. The last few weddings we went to, the bouts were dead before the bride even walked down the isle! I know some places thow in extra bouts for that reason or if the fall apart. We saw nice fake bouts at michaels and ac moore that were less expensive than the florist, but i don't want it to look bad. Is this totally tacky? Any thoughts/opinions?

Re: Fake Bouts- Tacky????
Did you book a florist yet? If not, I reccommend Designs by Rose-she threw in all the boutineres for free!
And to answer your ? about fake flowers-no I dont think its tacky. No one can tell the difference anyway!

I say if they look real-ish then go for it!!! We are not doing them at all for the same reason and will probably get handkerchiefs instead.

Re: Fake Bouts- Tacky????
I may be biased b/c I am like the anti-flower bride BUT if they save you money and if they look real-ish then go for it!
I cant imagine anyone even noticing, and if they do they have way too much time on thier hands lol I am sure your event will be fab so no one will know or care if the bouts are fake lol

I don't like fake flowers, but for a boutinere, who cares. Most guys lose them before or during the reception, and they probably won't keep on their jackets. Also, no one will be that close to them during the ceremony to notice.

I think it depends. You probably won't save too much money however if you like the look than go for it.
Two of my favorite etsy sellers make them and their names are:
myrakim and ohmydeer

There was a girl who just posted fake Bouts on the BHB Forum. She got them on Etsy and they were hot.

Re: Fake Bouts- Tacky????
I would say that I would do without them before doing fake ones.... what if you just did a real one for FH and had pocket squares for everyone else? I am not doing them at all because like you said they get ruined super quick
