Has anyone had a fake cake displayed at their wedding? I don't like my RH's bakery, the cakes look awful!!! But I also don't want to spend a lot of money on a cake.
Any suggestions where to get them or how much they cost?

Sometimes they will be almos tthe same price bc if you want a cake with fondant frosting they still have to decorate it.
My cake was very heavy so I wanted some of the layers to be 'fake' and they expalined that the cost woud be the same (at least in the bakery I went to)

What dont you like about your RH's cake???
I didn't like my RH's cake b/c it looked dated and old fashioned, so I asked them to smooth the icing out so that it wouldn't have all the draping and roped icing on it. I figured I can make my own decorations for the cake (I used to make cakes) and have someone place them on th cake beforehand. :)

They are just pitiful looking. They don't look like wedding cakes, they look like someone ran out of time and had to throw something together.
