I see all these gorgeous hairstyles but I find it hard to believe everyone has so much hair to work with. What are your options if you don't have much hair? Do you have to get extensions? Is there some sort of something they can shove in the middle of an updo to make it bigger? Can anyone explain it to me, please?

Re: Fake hair?
My hair is so thin, I need to have extensions in order to do the hairdo I want. (1/2 up 1/2 down).
I believe there is also a 'bun' insert if you want a bun do and make it fullier.

Re: Fake hair?
I too have VERY fine hair, my hair and make-up artist who I used on my wedding day suggested I try to add fake hair to my bun. I did but wasn't crazy about it, my bun was way too big and looked unnatural. So I decided to have her do my updo using my natural hair and it looked GREAT, I was actually really surprised by how full my bun came out.
If you do decide to use any type of fake hair definitely test it out at your trial.
FYI...Extensions are VERY bad for your hair and most hairstylists don't recommend them, they can be very damaging to your hair.

Re: Fake hair?
I have long hair, but it's not as thick b/c of Japanese Straightening, so I got hair extensions - bought them at a beauty supply store for $19.99 in Brooklyn, and Mia (hair stylist) attached wig clips, and NO ONE knew the difference.

Re: Fake hair?
I used Yaky extentions for my wedding hair, and i liked them. But they weren't absolutely necessary, they were a nice perk. A good stylist can give you the illusion of fullness. Plus- it does take longer to do, since there is so much extra hair.

I thought she was talking about the clip-in pieces? They aren't glued to the scalp. No damage.

I was just talking to my hairstylist about hair extensions today and she also said that they are very bad for your hair! I had been thinking about it since I hate growing my hair out because my hair is so thick! But she just advised me to grow it out - and she'll cut it so hopefully it wont bother me too much.

Extensions that are glued in or weaved in are bad for your hair - so you can have wig clips attached, that will work perfectly, and not cause any damage.

No worries
I hear it quite often and am just going by what I have been told in the past although I don't see any harm with hair extensions being clipped into your hair, that would definitely be a safe way of adding fake hair to your own just like the other girls mentioned.
Good Luck

Re: Fake hair?
I used CLIP IN extensions, not damaging at all! I have baby fine hair and I loved how it looked. It can look fake if you don't match your color correctly or use 'fake hair' as opposed to 'human hair'

Anyone know what a fall is? Did I make it up?

Re: Fake hair?
A 'fall' is a type of hairpiece, but it's ONE piece. I think the clip i extensions are better because they are several pieces that clip in to make it look more natural. Here's a link to a website with falls & extensions, etc: http://www.humanhairpieces.com/PRODUCTS/143H.html

Re: Fake hair?
I have very little hair, and here's what my hair trial looked like:
My hair is very fine and is only a little past my shoulders. I used Sarah Rock for my hair trial, and she said that making fine/thin hair look 'big' is her 'specialty'. She's a vendor on here, but here's the link to her website anyway. NY Bridal Looks
