Fake, for certain reasons:

I'm allergic
Sticky pine needles
Hardly ever symmetric
Can use the same tree every year

We don't have one. We just go to his parents house for Xmas. We properly won't get a tree until we have kids. We aren't big on Xmas.

I love the real ones but now that i live with FI we have a fake one. A really big fake one! It's 9 or 10 feet tall!

Real all the way! The smell really makes it feel like Christmas. I had fake trees in my house growing up. I never knew what I was missing all those years

Depends......

At my house (where I am until I get married) we have a real tree every year....in fact many years we go up to Connecticut to cut it down!

At my FH's we have a fake tree....it works great because he works long hours and doesn't have to worry about watering it. Also no mess of pine needles. To get the smell we use candles...not the same, but close enough. When we have kids we'll go real, but for now it works great for us.

Fake. My parents had a real tree way back when and cleanup was a pain with all of the pine needles.

BTW, we don't lose the pine 'smell' with a fake tree, they sell sprays you can use on fake trees.
