Re: fake vs real rose petals
I personally love the feel of real rose petals. Two of my friends that got married in recent years used real petals.
I will be using silk petals ONLY because I want to stick to my color theme of brown and blue and real petals don't come in anything near these colors. My only other option for real petals would have been white and I didn't want white petals - didn't think they'd have enough oomph.
I am ordering through Tributes Floral - a vendor on here. I ordered some samples and they are a nice quality and they have a ton of color options.

we had real petals and they looked so nice in the pictures- it was fun and not too much $$$ from my florist. I can't comment on fake petals because I have never seen it done with them

Re: fake vs real rose petals
I am going with the real rose petals for my reception decor with my CP's that my florist is providing. I am prob going to have real petal to throw after the church also, but I hope the real ones wont stain anything

If you only want to throw them, the real might feel nicer against your skin. Otherwise I'd say its about the same. Whetehr you're using them for an aisle runner like we are or for a centerpiece, there is always the chance of bruising. Some people use silk for that reason. I don't think you'd honestly be ble to tell in the photos whether real or fake if they are tossed, so I'd probably look at texture and price/

I used real for everything - decor in church, throwing, and at reception

They turn brown if they're handled too much or if you place something on top of them (like on your dinner tables).

oh noooooo! I haven't tested throwing them because I didn't want to make a mess, but I guess it's time to do that!
