Fall `02 Brides-Honeymoon

My wedding is 11/02/02 and we are starting to think about the honeymoon now. We are definitely going to go to Hawaii. (Some other options were Bali and the Amalfi Coast). Even though, I think that is a bit early to start worrying about it, everyone has been telling to book it as soon as we can to ensure that we get our first choice of flights and hotels. Good luck!

Fall `02 Brides-Honeymoon

Our wedding is 10/5 and we are pretty sure we are doing a escorted tour through Italy. We have been looking over brochures for the past few weeks and will probably book no later than Feb/March 02.

Fall `02 Brides-Honeymoon

We've just decided on Hawaii for our 9/02 honeymoon. The weather in the Fall excludes some places we were considering. We also considered Germany/Austria/Switzerland, but decided against it because it would be high maintenance, and we're looking for something more relaxing. Good luck.

Fall `02 Brides-Honeymoon

11/16/02 here... We decided on Aruba for honeymoon, but have to wait to start pricing around until the flights open up. They don't book flights until like 340 days in advance or something. We will probably start researching prices and packages in Jan/Feb.

christinec68... I have a question...

We're probably going to go to Disney/Universal for our honeymoon next August/September. I was also interested in going to Key West for a couple of days, but I don't know how it would work since it's so far away from Orlando. How are you going to go about it? How much do you think it will cost to go to Key West? I really want to go there in the middle of our theme park honeymoon to get a break, but it's at least an 8 hour drive, so that's out of the question. What would you suggest??? Thanks so much!

Melissa

Hi Melissa, WE are going to fly. I have checked out 2 options.. The first one is to fly from NY to Orlando - key west - orlando to ny. That would be two roundtrip tickets (NY-Orl and Orl - KW) that was about $800 for both of us. The second option is NY-ORL-KW-NY. This was about $1200 for the both of us. I know there are definietely connecting flights from KW - NY but I am pretty sure there are direct non-stop flights from Orlando. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any ques.

christinec68... one more question...

Everyone told me that there isn't an airport in Key West, so you couldn't fly in. You would have to fly to Miami and then drive to Key West??? What's that airport, and what airline are you going to use??? Thanks so much!

There is an airport in Key West - a little one that only takes in smaller planes. American defitely flies there and maybe delta. I'll look through my volumes of wedding related (:)) papers and let you know.

Melissa....

I got the prices of the flights mixed up. The multi leg trip was 800.00 on Delta for both of us. The 2 round trip tickets would be about 1200.00. That was american to orlando and delta to key west. Continental and american also flies to key west. sorry for the confusion. did you pick hotels yet??

Melissa....

Well... My sister is letting us use her timeshare at the Dolphin Resort. It's a 4 BR suite. It won't cost us anything. The only thing we would pay for is the Disney Hopper pass. I was also interested in staying at the Portifino Bay Hotel in Universal for a couple of nights, but for 2 nights for the both of us is around $700. That's expensive. So, I don't know. I definitely want to go to Universal and Islands of Adventure though. I thought since we're going to Florida for our honeymoon we should be able to afford first class. Yeah right!!! For 1 first class ticket it's over $900 dollars. Can you believe that? That's definitely not worth it. Where would you recommend staying in Key West? We've never been there. Thanks again!

Melissa..Oh yeah... What travel agency are you using??? *NM*

We used Disney to book our accomodations there and we are booking the rest ourselves (probably online). I didn't even consider first class for this trip - I hope I never have to pay $900 to go to Florida:) We are going to stay at the Wyndam Casa Marina in Key West. It is my favorite place to go to on vacation. They have a private beach, beautiful pool/private beach, and hands down the best breakfast buffet!! :) Wyndham has a website if you want to check it out. The site can give you rates and availiblity for your dates of travel.
