Fall 2004 style

What's going to be in style this season? I am pretty up on clothes, but I feel like with shoes i am lost. I just want to ditch my summer shoes and get new fall shoes. I like wearing low heels or loafers. When is everyone going to start fall shopping? I want to start now but I feel like my DH is going to be a PIA about it.

I think NYC tax free week is next week - no tax on anything under $100. I think it's next week...

I'm going to start this weekend. I got a Aerosoles shoe catalog (it's on their website too) and their shoes for the fall are really cool looking!

The first 3 pics are Aerosoles, the last is from Rockport. I want them all!

The Sept issue of Lucky has alot of great things in it. Tweed, argyle, herringbone, and 'vintage inspired' styles are very in. So are ponchos (in case you haven't seen the street corner vendors in NYC )

Mary, don't you mean 'chicer' and 'vintagey' .. (sorry, I just recalled your post from yesterday ... )

I love the styles for the fall, but I cannot see myself pulling a lot of those tweeds off. Esp. cannot see myself pulling off the poncho.. I'm sure it would make me look like I was wearing a potatoe sack.. (though I admire all these things on others... )

Felicia, I actually did put 'vintagey' at first, but changed my mind because it looked dopey on the screen!!!

I'm seriously considering getting a poncho.

I think it would looks so damn cute with a denim skirt and boots.

Can the ponchos be worn indoors or are they strictly to be worn like a jacket (outside only)?

I liked the Aerosoles line too! I got a cute pair of low, pointy heels at Parade the other day. It seems like the pointy shoes always have huge heels (which I can't spend the day in).
