Re: Fall theme

These are some great ideas - Kathy... I love all the pictures with the leaves on the napkins and plates. Any ideas where to get them from? Terri - where did you get your leaf place cards from??

Re: Fall theme

Thanks - I made the placecards. I found silk leaves at Michaels last August - they were sold in packs, but were unattached, which was hard to find. I then picked out the ones that were small enough to fit on the plain ivory placecards, and then glued each one down individually. Once I got into it, it didn't take too long!

Re: Fall theme

I am sorry, but I have no idea where to get those leaves on the plates with the monogram from. All these pictures are from Preston Bailey's book, and he's a florist/wedding coordinator in NYC. So, you could possibly call him. His website is http://www.prestonbaily.com

Re: Fall theme

no, I doubt they'd have any leaves now - I found mine late summer. I bought the plain placecards from a Lion in the Sun in Huntington, but you can find similar ones in Michaels too.

Once you find the leaves all you have to do is glue them down (I used Aileen's tacky glue) hold them for about 20 secs, and let them dry. Just make sure you leave enough room for the writing afterwards.

I used an red/orange pen for my writing, and I actually did have enough room - we named our tables, so we needed more room for that anyway.

It's time consuming, but not hard at all!

Re: Fall theme

I can't take the credit because Stacey helped me. (She's the best!!!) She e-mailed me the template because I was very stressed at that point (I did them the week of the wedding) I just did one set and then copied the pages so I had enough to cover each table. Then I typed in the names and printed them on a color printer. One of the girls on the site (Ddunee I think) had bought a bunch of blank place cards sheets. A few of us split them with her. I also think you can buy them at staples. I am sure you can get them in any color you want.
I saved the template so if anyone wants it (and Stacey doesn't mind-I'm sure she won't) I will be glad to send it to you. Just send me a FM

Re: Fall theme

Oh here was another idea I had for place cards (if I wasn't so stressed. Hallmark makes a family tree. And Martha Stewart makes place cards in the shape of leaves. I wanted to get the hallmark tree and place the leaf placecards on the tree and some underneath the tree. Then people could come and pick their card off the tree.

I hope that makes sense. I thought it would be a cute idea.
