Hi girls...What are you going to wear over your dress? A shawl? wrap? cape? I need suggestions which do not involve any type of real or fake fur.
TIA! Jen

Re: Fall/Winter brides
Our weddings are back to back! I'm in the same boat as you...I was thinking more of a sweater kind of a thing...maybe red cashmere or something to match the wedding colors...honestly its tough to call because it can be either gorgeous, or it can snow...but I think I'm leaning towards a little sweater

I'm back and forth on this too! I don't want to wear anything for pics so may just have a shawl with me in case it's cold.

Re: Fall/Winter brides
I am wearing my grandma's fur coat (so that dosen't help you) but i found this site that had a bunch of really cute cover options
Mind you I had done research - our wedding was this past January.. We lucked out with a beautiful day - it still was a little chilly without any wrap.
Try Esty for the wraps or capes. We had ordered a wrap from some company on line and it came from China. The price was great! When it arrived it smelt of kerosene. We had to really work hard for these people to take returns. We gave up and ended up with borrowing a faux fur jacket which I didn't use.

Re: Fall/Winter brides
I had a faux fur coat that I borrowed and never needed to wear because the high was 49 degrees that day... although I got married at 3pm and it was cooler by the time CH started.
One alternative I played with was ordering extra material for the dress and making a bolero coat to match, but decided against it.
I bought my BM's navy shawls and they all had them on and were freezing so I'm wondering if it was just because I was happy to be getting married and didn't notice the frigid temperatures that night?
Also, keep in mind if you aren't doing a lot of pics outside you may be ok without getting anything.. plus do you want all of your pics to have this jacket/shawl on? Or maybe you do want it for the pictures since it would be a cute shot...

Re: Fall/Winter brides
I'm not wearing anything over my dress, it's a strapless gown. I'm just hoping that I'll have a nice fall day, if it's anything like last years November 4th it will be gorgeous and since our wedding starts at noon, it won't be too cold or dark. I don't think I'll have my bridal party in anything either, we're only going to be outside for the ceremony (weather permitting) and that will be less than 30 minutes. If I do wear anything over it, it would be this : http://www.ivyandaster.com/collections/cover-ups/products/butterfly-lace-caplet#.T1Ev-3nTHTo but only for the ceremony, CH and reception are indoors.
