Fam Member as Officiant?

Has anyone ever had a family member marry them? Did it still feel real? Makes me laugh to say that - but starting to consider this and am curious how it worked out for anyone if they have done it!

We had a close family friend marry us and it felt even more real then it probably should. It was extremely special that someone close to the family could marry us and be one of the most important people in the room, rather then a stranger.

Not a family member, but my best friend's dad is marrying us. I think it will make it that much more extra special than just having someone random do it.

just a heads up - if you do choose to use a family member, make sure they are a good public speaker and that they don't write a boring ceremony.
