Family drama.....LONG
I posted awhile back about some sister drama pre-shower... update and more problems....my shower (still waiting on pics from people, I didn't use my camera) was wonderful with my three sisters there.
My estranged sister came and things were ok...my mom tried really hard to talk with her and told her she loved her and wanted to see her but she was just like GOODBYE....and left. Well my mother never told my dad (quite stubborn) that she invited her and of course he found out and was pissed that she hid it from her. Now I find out yesterday from my grandmother that he says he refuses to give me away IF my sister is at the wedding.....I am soo hurt. I have not talked to him yet about this and will but my dad can be soo stubborn at times. Long story short my DH and my parents have both requested that my sister and her husband sit down and talk with my parents so they can all be civil at the wedding (things have been bad and uncomfortable for them and other family members at other recent family weddings). I have written my sister numerous times (she won't give me her phone #) asking her to do this for me, my dad wrote and asked, I wrote her mother in law and asked....no responses. HELP! I can't imagine not inviting my sister to my wedding despite how she has been in the past few years (plus we invited her to the shower so need to) but my parents are being sooo unreasonable about this but I want to respect them as well. If I had it my way I would just invite her but my parents will be extremely upset and she has the potential to make others upset as well.
