family traditions.

What are some traditions that either you and FH already have or that FH and his family or you and yours have that you hope to continue... either just wth you and FH or together with future kids?

Or new ones you'd like to see start?

New Years Eve at FILs. FH has never missed a new years at his parents and I haven't in the past 5 years, maybe 6. In fact, this past one my parents, brother, and sister came and it was so nice to have everyone together there. It really made it real to us that we're ALL family now.

On Christmas Eve, we were always given two presents...Christmas-y pajamas and an angel ornament.

Who am I kidding. It's not 'were', it's 'are'. I'm almost 30 and my parents still give my sister and I pajamas and an angel ornament. If I'm in NYC for the holiday, they mail me gifts and have those specifically marked as the Christmas Eve pressies.

Well, now that Neel is in the picture, he gets them too. But since he's not Christian, my parents just get him funny pajamas and a car ornament or something like that. This year he got pj pants that look like the parental advisory sticker printed on them, only it says things like 'HUSBAND ADVISORY/EXCESSIVE FARTING MAY OCCUR'

We're wacky.

It's a silly tradition but for my first Christmas without my parents around I thought they'd forget to do it and I went out and bought (and wrapped...LOSER) Christmas pjs...but they had sent them to me! I was 22. What a loser I am.

I love my family.
