I haven't been on an interview in 3 years, and of course my first has to be on a 96 degree day.
It's an entertainment company, an interview for a very laid back place. Is it ok to wear a pair of light beige suit pants, with a burgundy cap sleeve sweater...and camel colored pumps? It's a very Ann Taylor outfit...
I don't have the time to get a suit!

Re: Fashion advice
hmm, I would have to see the outfit, but how about with a nice crisp button down? Might make it more business like if you don't want to go out and buy a suit.

Re: Fashion advice
hmmm....what type of position? Depends on the position to me....for example, here in advertising which is super casual, it would totally be OK for a 'creative' person to wear something laid back. But for everyone else, they would wear a suit to the interview even if thats not the every day wear.

Oh and I can't do button downs, they never look good on me.

Re: Fashion advice
Hmmm, I probably would wear a suit, not a stuffy one, a casual linen or silk suit............ Beige would be fine I think........

Re: Fashion advice
Don't worry about it. Your outfit sounds fine. Stick with that or wear a button down to make it more business like. Be yourself and you will do great!

Re: Fashion advice
Thanks ladies...I'm just going to do a fashion show for my hubby tonight and see what he thinks.
Kim...I'd wear a button down, but I can't ever get one that doesn't spread and show my bra!

Re: Fashion advice
I agree with whoever said to wear a suit, possibly linen or something like that. My understanding is that even if an office is business casual, you should wear a suit. Go to monster.com, they have tips on that type of stuff.

Re: Fashion advice
lol, mistyeyed, have you tried like the stretch ones from the gap and such? My sister has that same problem and whenever I see her wearing one I stick my finger in the hole to annoy her...lol. Sometimes I really still feel like I'm 7 and she's 9....lol

Re: Fashion advice
But it's not business casual...it's jeans and tshirts!
And I have no time to get a suit altered. The interview is tomorrow.
Any other suggestions appreciated.

Re: Fashion advice
I think your outfit is appropriate for your interview. If you feel it's lacking, throw a matching button down sweater (cardigan) to go over the top. Or wear a 'twin set'. But really, I think you're more than fine with what you intend on wearing.
