well it seems like due to health reasons i won't be able to dance with my dad at my wedding. he really seems to have a hard time walking these days
i am racking my brains trying to think of other ways to honor my father. Nothing yet so far.
I am not very good at giving toasts.
If anybody can think of other options, please let me know
Thanks!

Re: Father Daughter Dance
What about a video montage of you and him set to music... ask your dj about video options. I hope this helps

Re: Father Daughter Dance
When my aunt got married my grandfather was in a wheelchair and they still had their father daughter dance, I know it seems hard to do but she just leaned over and held his hands and swayed and it was beautiful

Re: Father Daughter Dance
I don't know if this is what you are looking for but a friend of mine at his wedding danced with his mother, who couldn't really walk, to walk like an Egyptian this way they could stand still and move only their arms.... Another idea is if you are having the plasma tv things that most dj's offer you can do a photo montage of you and your dad to the song you want .

thanks everyone!
the video montage sounds like a good idea. even though i will probably be crying like a baby!!
my dad has diabetes AND parkinsons .. so he has bad circulation in his legs. i've waited a long time to dance w/him at my wedding..but as long as he is there.. i don't care!!
thanks

Re: Father Daughter Dance
If you have a good voice I would write him a song and sing it to him

My BIL did this at my sisters wedding. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Re: Father Daughter Dance
my father passed almost 4 years ago ... so no father/daughter dance for me either BUT
in honor of my dad im putting together (with the help of my DJ/Photographer) a photo montage to a song I would dance with him to.
ill start when he was a baby, to childhood, pics of him and my mom and their wedding, my siblings and then US!!
Also, for anyone who has lost someone they want to honor ... we are going to have candles available for anyone who would like to light one to remember someone they have lost. I think it will look amazing with a room full of candles and all my dad's pictures on the big screen

I agree with the photo montage set to the song you would have danced with him to. The DJ can make an announcement and pull 2 chairs to the middle if the dance floor and you guys could sit together and watch the montage.
