Father Daughter Dance

Hi Girls,

Looking for an oldie to dance to with my dad. We used to sing 'All I have to do is dream' by the everyly brothers...but it's kind of for a couple....any suggestions would be great.

TIA!

I didn't care for all the sappy father/daughter songs out there and I decided to go with 'The way you look tonight' by Frank Sinatra.

I went to a wedding last year where the bride and and her father slow danced cheek to cheek... Their song was 'Butterflyfly kisses' and they sang it to each other.

I'm sorry but that was seriously creepy.

That is so weird. My parent's wedding song was The Way You Look Tonight. My mother passed away, and my dad wants to use it..I said it would be too sad for him and I.....

I have been thinking about it though....

oh, I think it would be perfect then -- a way to include your mom and a reminder of his wonderful wedding day.

Thank you for your help...michael buble's version is really nice...back in the day, they dance to The Jaguar's version...not too bad, either!

Re: Father Daughter Dance

There is that old song called 'Daddy's Little Girl.'

If you need more info. let me know- I can get it from my Dad. It is an OLD song by Al Martino. Here are the words:

You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
You're mommy's bright and shining star.

You're the spirit of Christmas, my star on the tree,
You're the Easter bunny to mommy and me.
You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice,
And you're daddy's little girl.

You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
You're mommy's bright and shining star.

You're the treasure I cherish so sparkling and bright,
You were touched by the holy and beautiful light.
Like angels that sing a heavenly thing,
And you're daddy's little girl.

My sister danced to 'My Girl' with our dad at her wedding 4 years ago. It was a beautiful moment in time, especially since our dad got us listening to the oldies with his old 45 records when we were kids!

I'm dancing to 'brown eyed girl' by van morison.

Wanted something up beat and something that is not sappy. My mother passed away 4 months ago, so trying to make the best of the day by not playng 'in my daughters eyes' by martine mcbride...first choice.

Re: Father Daughter Dance

We used ' You are the Sunshine in my life'. It was perfect since we added the Mother Son Dance last minute.
