This is probably a silly question....but for the father daughter dance,.....Is my dad supposed to pick this song out? We arent that close, and I just figured that even if he was, he wouldnt know to, and hadnt picked one out....I just want to see what the correct way to do this is????
My FH's mom picked their song out months ago.

I don't think it matters...You can ask him if he has a song in mind and if he doesn't then you can pick one. My dad is old fashion Sicilian...I'm picking the song...he would have no idea what to pick...what matters is the dance with his little girl!!!

I think it's a personal choice who chooses the song. You could pick it, your dad could pick it, you could pick it together... I even know one bride who let her mom pick it as a surprise fot her and her dad! Do whatever feels comfortable, and don't worry about what is 'correct'.
I asked my father if he wanted to pick a song...he said whatever I wanted...so I picked one that I thought fit him best...

I don't think it matters. I think it is personal opinion.
My personal opinion is the bride should choose and say this is my way of honoring you dad!
My mom picked the song she is going to dance with my brother because he had no clue what to pick!

I picked out the song and will not tell my Dad. In fact he hasn't even asked me. He knows that I am going to let him hear it that day for the 1st time.
If you are not very close, just pick a nice song. I am sure it will be fine.

I'm not close with my father and he has no idea about modern music so the DJ helped me pick out a song by Paul Anka about memories and nothing too mushy. It was nice and appropriate for us. Of course, I can't remember the name but if I think of it I'll let you know.

I picked a song, made him the song on cd, and he plays it in his car all the time. He loves it! (Butterfly kisses).
