Father/daughter dance

Father/daughter dance

I am not close with my father. He is not a bad man but i am very dissapointed in him mostly for things that have occured recently.....I have no desire to dance with him at my wedding. it is awkward enough to walk down the aisle with him but i will try to suck it up for that. Would it be disrespectful or embarrassing to him if i skipped that dance altogether?

That's really a personal decision between you and your father. I have a friend that was in a similar situation. Her parents are divorced, and her father lives in another state. They speak, but are not very close. When she got married, she had her mother walk her down the aisle, and she skipped the father/daughter dance. I'm not really sure how her father felt about it, but it was her choice.

FH is in the same boat. He will skip the mother/son dance, but I will dance w/ my dad.

I think its definitely something you need to decide. If FH dances with his mom, it may look odd, but its up to you. It may be weirder to you if you do dance with him.

my friend didn't do the father daughter dance. truthfully i don't think anyone noticed but they didn't do any dances like that; they weren't into it.

you'd be surprised how many people wont even realize it if you skip the dance.

is your FH dancing with his mom? if not (or if you cn get him not too) even better b/c than DEFINITELY no one will realize

its a very personal thing so do what feels right to you

i think it's definitely a matter of opinion...it's whatever you are comfortable with.

if you don't do it - FEW people will notice...seriously.. Do not worry about it!!!

it's usually at the end of the night....you can even blame it on the d.j. later on
