father/daughter dance

father/daughter dance

Does anyone know their song for this yet? I really loved Lullaby (Goodnight, My Angel) by Billy Joel but my dad doesn't feel like it sounds 'wedding enough'. Years ago I had planned to do My Little Girl by Tim McGraw, but when my best friend got married and her dad wouldn't agree to any song, I told her about it and that's what she used. I just don't feel like I want to use it then. Can anyone give me suggestions? I'm a total daddy's girl but am not really into the 'typical' songs that are associated with this dance.

Im dancing to Marc Anthony's - My Baby You. Song is about his oldest daughter. When I saw him perform this on a HBO special when I was still a teen (God I feel old lol) and he got choked up he almost couldnt finish the song I just knew if I ever got married this is the song Id want to dance to with my dad.

I hate to say this - but I really don't have a close relationship with my father. When I was little, like 3-5, I remember waiting by the door for him to come home play..

But that had entirely changed by the time I was 6 or 7.

Generally, we avoid one another, We do each other favors when needed, but we otherwise avoid one another.

Yet, for my mom's sake - i'll be forced to do a father/daugther dance.

So.. what's the shortest appropriate song?

You can do Memories. I tend to think old songs are pretty short.

We are doing a really old song called You are My Special Angel by Bobby Helms. When me and my sister tuned 10 years old, he gave us a song and said it was 'our songs.' This is the song he gave me. It makes me tear everytime I hear it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm pulling it up on iTunes. I definitely need a short but appropriate song.

I'm doing My Little Girl by Tim McGraw for my father/daughter dance and either I Loved Her First by Heartland or My Wish by Rascal Flatts for my stepfather/daughter dance.

I'm not really a daddy's girl bc my father and I have had a lot of issues over the past few years, but I know it would crush him if we didnt have a cute father/daughter dance song. Part of me doesnt want to tell him or my stepdad what their songs are - I want it to be a surprise, but I also know that theyre both gonna cry when they hear their songs so maybe I should let them listen to them first so that I dont start hysterically crying.

Check out the song 'Stealing Cinderella' makes my mom cry all the time and she always makes references to my FH that he is stealing her Cinderella.

Since my dad passed away I don't know what I'm doing yet, but I think I might dance to that with my mom and then a song like I loved her first with my grandpa or brother. People keep asking me questions about who will walk me down and who am I going to dance with and I know they don't mean to but it gets me upset.
