father/daughter dance

I need some help! Everything I pick out, my father doesn't like (Isn't She Lovely, Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel), Never Grow Up) and now my mom sends me a song my dad likes and I HATE IT! I hate the guy's voice and I know I'm going to sit there sobbing through all 4 minutes of it - EXACTLY WHAT I DON'T WANT! Anyone have any suggestions of nonsappy songs? I'm close with my dad, but not big into crying at my reception.

That was what my dad picked out! I got like 35 seconds into and started crying (And I'm not a crier) so I told him no way!

We danced to 'My Little Girl' by Tim Mc Graw, it's a little sappy but still a great song - we both got through it with out crying.

I am dancing to Rascal Flatts 'My Wish' with my dad. My sister danced to Tim McGraw's 'My Little Girl' at her wedding. Hope this helps!!

I had 'My Little Girl' picked out YEARS ago, but my bff couldn't find a song her dad would agree to so I showed her that one. They ended up picking it. FH said I should still use it, but her entire family and in laws will be at our wedding and I really don't want people saying/thinking 'oh that was so-and-so's song at her wedding'. Is that selfish? lol

No it's not! My friend used my sister's song for hers and my song for her husband's dance with his mother. Who cares what others think!! You and your friend both know who chose it first! LOL

we are using I loved her first by heartland. I gave my dad a few choices and this was what he picked. The other was Wind beneth my wings.

I am going to be dancing with my Uncle for the Father/Daugther dance. I have a special song that my grandma loved and us to sing to me: The way you look tonight by Frank Sinatra.

Since she passed away 4 years ago this wedding planning without her has been very hard and sad. But that dance will be in memory of her and all she had done for me since my beginning of life!

Of course the tears will fall and that't ok on my part!

This is what I have picked to dance with my Dad too but I find it gets me very emotional so I am also considering Celine Dion's 'Because you loved me'. It gets the same message across to me and doesn't make me cry every time I hear it!
