Father/Daughter Dance Opinion

Okay ladies I need an HONEST opinion. One of my favorite memories of my dad and I was a few years ago. We were in the car, just the two of us (which with my big family never really happens) and Van Morrison's 'Into the Mystic' came on. My dad and I just sang our hearts out & I have never heard my dad sing so loud. To this day when I hear it I hold back tears because it just makes me think of him and reminds me being with him in his truck when I was little. I dont know if it is an inappropriate father daughter dance song. I know they used it as their first dance for that American Wedding movie so is it a romantic song? It just reminds me so much of my dad and always will, but if its like a love song I dont want to use it clearly. Let me know. TIA

I think that if it's a special 'moment' with you & your father...who gives a damn?!?!?!? Do what your heart wants!!

I don't think it's all that romantic honestly - we're using it just because it's from a movie and we were originally going 'movie theme' and we're not anymore...so it's our personal nod to that!

It's a moment in time for you & dad....who cares what anyone else thinks?!

awwww that is such a great story and i think the fact that there is a great story behind the song it will make your father/daughter dance even more touching. I wouldn't worry about the lyrics, ppl wont sit there and pay attention to every word and ppl will figure that the song probably has special meaning or something, they wont start thinking weird things...You definitely should go for it, just reading your post got me teary eyed

i just read the lyrics and you have nothing to worry about, it wasnt a lovey dovey romantic type song and no lyrics that would be awkward for you to dance to.
