My parents have been divorced since I was like 7... I did NOT grow up knowing my dad at all... Over the past few years we have tried to mend what we have to make up for... and all the songs I am finding for the FD dance are waaaay to 'daddy's little girl ish'

I'm in a similar situation..my parents were divorced when I was 2 and he was in my life the whole time until I was 17 and I had a HUGE falling out with my step mother and he kinda chose her over me. Anywhooo we talk occasionally now and see eachother on holidays and I'm totally stressing over the father/daughter dance. I'm thinking maybe My Girl because it's up beat but I still don't really know!

I have the same situaction with my dad...parents got divorced when I was 7/8 and then my dad just totally disappeared when I was 12. He suddenly 'reappeared' when I was 21, which I always tell him, after I was basically a grown up and didnt need those 'father/daugther' talks....
Still love him but that father/daugther dance is just going to feel so awkward esp since my stepdad basically raised me when he was gone..so I'm going to do a mother/daugther dance instead ha

Crashing--my dad is not at all sappy and he chose the Hawaiin version of 'Over the Rainbow'--we are actually really close, but he didn't want anything too sappy and neither did I.
