father/daughter song

Hi Ladies....

I need some help picking a father/daughter dance song. The problem is that we are not really close and he wasn't around when I was growing up, so I don't want to use a song that says he is a great father or watched me grow up, etc. Since I am his only daugther that will be getting married I don't want to deprive him of the dance.....

I’ve been searching for a while and am still having a hard time finding a song. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’d greatly appreciate the help!!!

We used 'I Loved her First' by Heartland.
It's a nice song, was more appropriate for my dad and me, not overly mushy like some of the traditional father/daughte songs. Has a very nice tempo too.

Thats the song I danced with my father.. I was hysterical crying during our dance. That song has so much meaning to it.

We still watch our wedding video and I cry

I'm 99.999% sure thats the song im using with my dad too especially because i am really close with my dad and when i first met Joe and introduced him to Joe, he said to me, 'it's time for me to start saving for your wedding.' Love the words to it

I do realize that the OP is asking for, which is why I posted the lyrics.
The song is from the point of view from the Dad.
Perhaps he feels that way about his daughter, but she not about him.
It was a suggestion, which is what was asked for.
