Father/Daughter Song

I'm trying to find a father/daughter song that isn't that sappy.
Orignally wanted brown eyed girl until father listened to the lycirs and yelled at me that it sounds like we are bf/gf!

I dont want sappy because my mother passed away 6 months ago (saturday will be 6 months)

so it will be very hard for everyone...and then to have a sad song...but a nice sad song...I dont want that either

Father liked time after time by cyndi lauper--I was balling through the first 30 seconds!! And I used to laugh at that song cuz' I thought of the movie--Romy & Michelle

Then i thought of my wish, again couldn't make it through the first 30 seonds and my father couldnt either ;(

What about 'What a wonderful World' by Lois Armstrong? It's not sappy and it is a good song to dance to?

What about the Hawaiian version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow...it is up beat.

That's what I danced to with my father! It was perfect! Not sappy at all and it's just a nice song.

Father/Daughter by Paul Simon -- it is upbeat but about a father and his daughter -- cute not sappy!

i have a feeling that any song you choose will still become sentimental. Even if you danced with your dad to the macarana.

we used dadddy's little girl by michael bolton (not that i'm a fan of his...lol). it's faster than the version my dad really wanted to use. it's sweet, but didn't make me sad. my best memories with my dad is when i was younger. once i turned into a teen he didn't know what to do with me!

My mom passed away as well and as much as I know it'll be sad...I'm doing a mushy song to dance with my dad.
It was actually a song I was going to dance to with my mom...she did it with her mom as well at her wedding. It's called You and Me Against the world by Helen Reddy.
I can already feel the tears starting to come! haha

My father passed away in '01, but my godfather is walking me down the aisle. I plan on dancing with him to 'My Wish' by Rascal Flatts.

My mother passed away as well...I am so sorry, and I understand your trouble in picking a song for you and dad.
My father just suggested dancing to the song that he and my mother dance to at their wedding, (not sure if he'll make it through the song), but you may want to consider it:
The Way You Look Tonight, it's not sappy, but an appropriate song for a wedding.

Again, I am very sorry for your loss, and wish you much happiness on your wedding day!
