Father/Daughter Song That Will Make you CRY!

Anyone still looking for a Father/Daughter song?? I did a search yesterday and came across this song. I honestly never heard of it, but it is SO perfect for me and my dad and I cry every time I hear it now. I showed my mom and the two of us were crying together. I know, it really is perfect for me and my dad. A lot of songs I heard were either really cheesey, or just didn't fit the two of us. The person who sings it is Mark Cohn. I may look and see if there are any other versions of it, meaning, other singers, etc. But I think he's the one who wrote and sang it originally.

It's gonna be tough gettin through this one!! LOL

Same here!! Except I haven't danced YET. It's just such a great tune and lyric...I'm not sure I'm CRAZY about this version. I may look for another, but if not, this is fine...it fits us perfect and I'm gonna BAWL when we dance.

I was checking the new posts on this thread and scrolled through the lyrics 'Oh, my angel and my pride' - that's the line that gets me! yeah, here I go again
I never heard the Marc Cohn version - I forget the name of the other guy that sings it.
It's so funny, my dad and I would both cry everytime we heard our song before the wedding. So when we started dancing, he was like 'should we listen to the song?' and I said if we do, we'll start bawling....so we decided to talk through the song instead

That's a great idea as well! I know if I listen to the words as we dance, I'll lose it! Do you know where you found the other version?? I'm gonna search for it...would you say it's better than this one? Thanks so much for your help!!
