Father/Daugter Dance...More Questions from me

Father/Daugter Dance...More Questions from me

You'll have to excuse all the questions... I was never really into weddings until I started planning my own!

My father passed away about 10 years ago. I am probably walking down the aisle with my mom and my Uncle (Dad's brother)... do I do the father daughter dance with my Uncle or my mom?! Do I skip it?!

I don't have that kind of relationship with FHs dad, so that's out... and I'd really like to honor my mom in some way, but she hates to be part of the spot light.

I know I have plenty of time to worry about these things, I just want to get ideas for when the time comes.

Did you feel that your uncle had been a father role for you? If so I would do a dance with him. Or if your mother doesn't like the spotlight you could dance with her for maybe a minute or two NOT the whole song OR just dedicate a song to your mother.

I think it would be nice to dance with your Uncle and maybe dance to a song in dedication to your Dad. My Fh's Mom passed away and he is going to dance with either his Aunt of his sister and he will dance to a song that reminds him of his mom.

My dad passed away almost 20 years ago and my uncle (his brother) walked me down the isle. I did the dance with him and we hanced to Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.

I have seen some brides in the same situation dance with their moms. It's a beautiful sentiment.

I'm in a similar situation and I am hoping (in lieu of the father daughter dance) to have a slideshow dedicated to my mother.

I would definetly do the dance with your mom. If she says no just have the DJ announce it on the day of your wedding and she can't back out as soon as the DJ announces it.
