Faux Finish

Faux Finish

Does anyone know of any books or videos that will teach you how to do this. DH and I want to try to paint the dining room so it looks like below, but in different colors. Is this really hard. Should we just look for a painter?

Home Depot! They give classes and they have a tons of books and brochures with instructions on how to do all different Faux Finishes. Also, Benjamin Moore stores have instructional brochures.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Great!! Thank you. I am going there tonight!

Have either of you tried this? Is it hard or does it just take time to get into the groove of it?

Re: Faux Finish

I love faux finishing.....its really easy to do. I took the class at Home Depot and bought 'The Woolie'. They demonstrate it in their class. It seriously is the easiest thing to do. I've done 3 rooms in my house with it and I love the way it looks.

These aren't the finished pics but here is my kitchen and the baby's room. I just did the guest room this past week and fauxed with an ivory and celery green (sorry, no pics yet!)

Wow! That looks incredible!!! Thank you so much for posting the pics. I actually want to do an ivory and green mix in the dining room. I am going to see if they are having any upcoming classes.

Thanks again!

Re: Faux Finish

it's not that difficult but i would recommend that only one hand does the job..when fh and i were starting out with it we decided that if i did some and then he did some it would look to different..good luck!! i'll try to post some pics of our living room but i have to find them.

i found some but they are really small..can't really tell but its school bus yellow with a burnt sienna over it and although it sounds crazy it really did come out nice if i say so myself
