i don't know about everyone else....but i'm petrified to wear my rings to the honeymoon....was just on kohls.com and found for around 10 bucks, a cz ring set! think i'm gonna get it, and hide my real set at home!! how heart breaking would it be if it was lost/stolen or damaged days after getting married!!!
Just curious though, how would you lose your rings on the honeymoon? Do you take them off a lot?

I was thinking abt it for the honeymoon....I was going to try Claire's I've seen them for like $7.50....buy 1 get 1 free or buy 2 get one free of something and you can get different styles or mix and match and just get like an everyday bracelet or something.

I've seen that set at Kohl's and it's just beautiful.
I'm not doing that because I figure the rings are something I'm going to have with me forever, so I'm not going to lose them in 10 days, just like I don't plan to lose them in 10 years. But I could see how if you were going somewhere where you'd be doing a lot of beach time, you'd want to have a spare set just in case.
I've been wearing rings my whole life and never once lost one, so I guess I'm not too worried about it. Plus FH says we have them insured. Just in case!

don't take them off at all....but that's where the horror stories start.....you're on the beach/in the pool/on a waverunner.....do you wear your rings? and if you don't.....you leave them in the hotel room? if you wear them.....do you lose them? my fiance's groomsmen lost his ring on the beach during the honeymoon.....it would be my luck to do that!!

I actually do wear my rings in the pool/beach/everywhere honestly, LOL! I never really take my e-ring off ever. Stupid me registered for a ring holder and when I got it, I was like, ummm what should I do with this...

This is a VERY good idea!!!!! I have seen this happen 1st hand!!!! I actually just bought a faux E-Ring b/c FH & I rent a house on FI w/4 other couples for a week on FI. Last year one of the husbands lost his wedding band & was so distraught it brought tears to my eyes.
He was heartbroken & couldn't understand how he lost it, it was a perfect fit for his finger!!! So when we go on our hineymoon, I will do this too!!!

I didnt want to take mine off for anything!! It's really not as bad as you might think, you'll never even take it off. We had a safe in our room with our own personalized pass code we stuck them in once. I think you'll be ok :o)

I am probably going to do this too. I take my ring off constantly. When I go to the bathroom at work I lock it in my drawer. I dont wear it to the beach or pool or anything so I dont feel comfortable bringing it on my honeymoon.

i got a fake set too.... because we are beach bums and spend all day in the ocean and doing stuff..... and I've heard enough horror stories about stones coming loose or something, so I have this fear of my stone coming out in the ocean or something. I know, I'm crazy, but I want to wear SOMETHING on my hand and would rather bring a fake set instead of leaving it in the hotel room all week

I am probably going to do the same for this reason - I would never wear my rings to the beach and probably won't feel comfortable leaving it in the hotel room

If you don't take your rings off, it's not necessary... (it is very pretty though!!)
FH proposed in Mexico the 2nd day we were there and I was so afraid of losing my ring all week... I didn't want to wear it in the pool or anything. I heard bad stories about how the safes can get broken into, so I figured it was safer with me than anywhere else!!

I would just get insurance - it's not expensive and you shouldn't have to worry about your rings.

I am not doing that. I wear my e-ring all the time so I can't imagine the HM will be any different. That's why we have insurance. The only time I think I won't wear it is *maybe* scuba diving but I'll keep it in the room safe then.

I've been going back and forth about this. My mom keeps telling me I should but I feel like I don't want to not be wearing my rings the first week we're married. Then again I don't want to lose them and never be able to wear them again. Even with insurance it's still never the ring he proposed with or the one you took your vows with. I'll make a decision soon!

I'll probably be doing this. We're going on a cruise, so I figured I can leave my real ones in the room all day while we're out doing whatever, and then when we go to dinner and the entertainment I can wear the real thing.
I wear my ring all the time except for when I shower or go in the pool or something. I was so sad to take it off when he first proposed that I've gotten into the habit of sleeping with it on...I'm sure that'll end the first time I scratch myself in the face in my sleep

This is not 100% related but I thought I'd share anyway. Do you remember when you used to throw coins into a basket at a toll booth? Well, one day my mother was paying the toll and her ring came and went down the slot with her coins. Luckily, she was able to get it back, but such a hassle! I guess with EZ Pass we really don't have to worry about that anymore.
