What's the rules when it comes to favors? One per guest or one per couple? I always thought one per guest but my mom and her friends are saying one per couple.

Re: Favor etiquette
we did one per couple because they doubled as our place cards. food items are usually 1 per person, but since we had about 1/2 lb of chocolates in each i think one per couple was more than fine.
i personally think it looks best to do 1 per person if they are out on the tables but aside from that, anything goes -- it depends more on the item

Depends what you get...
We got Lenox candy dish which will be one per couple. We are also doing mini candy boxes with hershey kisses...that will be one per person. HTH
It seems substantial enough to do one per couple but then how do they get distributed? They can't be at the table right? Do they get handed to guests on the way out?

Re: Favor etiquette
i definitely think you could do one per couple, andyou could put them on the table... at a wedding we went to recently, they made personalized tags for the favors with the guests names on them so that the guests knew whos was whose and there wasn't any confusion about if it was one per person or one per couple ( so, for example ours had mine and Dhs name on them). it really added a nice personalized touch to it, too... maybe something like that would help prevent any confusion

One per couple for that favor...which is adorable! What I would do, is have them all set up on a table with a cute sign saying something like,
Please take this gift as a token of our love and gratitude for sharing in our special day.
Each couple please take one so everyone can enjoy watching their flowers bloom as a symbol of our love.
Or something!!

Re: Favor etiquette
We are doing one per couple. We're giving out bottles of wine and a crystal bottle stopper. Our RH is going to set up the placecard table in the lobby with our favors while the reception is going on, and will have one or two people there to hand out the favors as everyone leaves. I think that is the best way to do it if you are doing favors per couple so that couples don't take doubles.

Re: Favor etiquette
it all depends on what the favor is and how much you want to spend! we are doing one per person, because they weren't too expensive to make and it's becoming part of the table 'decor' but if you were doing like a set of coasters, or a bottle of wine, etc. then 1 per couple should be good! here's a pic of my favor!
