I need some ideas on what to do for my favors. My whole theme is Autumn in New York, and I really want something to reflect that. I thought of Caramel apples but some people say that will take too long to make 200 of them. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I think caramel apples are perfect - you can totally pull that off! just get a bunch of you together and make an industrial lines of stick, dip, dry and wrap... totally possible!

I'm doing a fall theme as well ....I'm making maple leaf shaped chocolates. They're a pretty good weight and they won't take that long to make.
HTH!
FM me if you want to see a pic -- I have one saved on my work computer.

I would love to see pics of the chocolate.
I really want to do the caramel apples but people seem to think I am taking too much on, and I think it might be too much to get them made for me.

You night be able to get them from your local Supermarket -- they'll come in plastic packaging -- then you can open them and just re-wrap.....won't take as long and they're usually not too expensive from there...

Re: Favor Idea
i think caramel apples should be fine. you don't have to make everything the night before. they'll stay good for about a week. just have people help you out in their houses and deliver them to you or the reception hall.
or another idea, maybe maple sugar candy from canada in the shape of leaves.
also, try harry and davids. they have some cute ideas for the fall like pumkin ceramics to hold your favors.

My daughter is using the fall theme too. She's doing a Petite Merlot Gel Candle for her favor. It comes in a cute box and looks like a glass of merlot. We're ordering books of matches to include on top of the box and just putting ribbon around it. It's really nice.

Hey i am doing a fall wedding too. I'm thinking wine bottles. Trader Joes just won an award for one of their white wines. It won an award for the best white wine in CA in a blind taste test. And best part.. its only $3 for a FULL bottle. I emailed the headquarters and they said the only Trader Joes iN NY that sells wine is the one in the city. IF you want the address let me know. FH picked up a few bottles and he would know what street its on

I am doing a November wedding and we are giving homemade mini apple, pumpkin and pecan pies as favors. My mom is an awesome baker, so she's doing it gladly We are getting custom-made pie boxes with leaf stickers which have our name, a saying, and the date, then wrapping them in raffia

That's so nice! Hopefully she doesn't see the Bridzilla episode w/ the chick who made cakes for her tables. She'll be scared out of her mind to bake.
...now I want pie..darn it.

If you want to do wine favors- it's totally do-able on a budget. Mine only cost about $4.50 each and I needed 100 of them- we bought full bottles of Crane Lake Carbonet (excuse my bad spelling) from Cappy's in Valley Stream, then bought organza wine bags and favor tags.
We gave one bottle per couple- pics are in my album.
Feel free to FM me for any information you might want/need.
