favor idea?

so i was thinking the other day and this light went off in my head...
I was very close to my grandma and she will not be here on my wedding day...i still miss her everyday since she has been gone but I want to incorporate her into my wedding. I wanted to do donations to cancer society in her name but i wanted to include something with it. So I got this idea, my grandma was a great cook and she ALWAYS made this one type of cookie ( we have her recipies). so I was thinking maybe we could make the cookies and put 2 or 3 in a cute box with a bow on it and then attach a card wth the ribbon explaining the donation in memory of her... what do u girls think? We are having a vienese hr and mabe a candy bar is it too much??

I think that's such a great idea. It's a very special way to include your grandma in your wedding.

That is a beautiful idea! My grandmother practically raised me and even 10 years later I miss her everyday! I think that is a really creative and special way to honor her memory....

next question... is it ofensive not to include other family members who passed away?
I will have memory candles but its not like what i want to do with the favors...
i guess i could include something like in memory of ___ and all other loved ones who could not be here with us today...

That is a great idea. You can also do a mini receipe book and maybe you get receipe's from your fh side? Just a suggestion I read somewhere. I thought it was very cute.

Re: favor idea?

I think it would be a nice touch. I could ut 2 cookies in one of those nice wite or ivory boxes with a matching bow on them and attach a saying/ letter to them. The RH places gold charger plates down so I could instruct them to put one on every plate
I like the cookbook idea also...but it might be too much with the donation $$

That sounds like a very sweet tribute. I don't think it's snubbing your other loved ones who passed away.

It's a greaty idea!

I am doing mini-viennese & a candy bar...and I think I'm going to make my favors either wedding cookies or personalized M&M's.

So I don't think it's too much to do cookies with MV & candy bar lol.

I think its a great idea! I dont think it will be too much because they will take the cookies home with them - not necessarily eat them at the wedding.

You should use a heart shaped cookie cutter
