We are going to buy wine from Trader Joe's and get personalized labels. One bottle per couple!
We're doing the exact same thing!
We are also getting truffles from Afresh Approach bc I won a gift card for them at TWOTY!

Re: Favor ideas
I went to Trader Joe's this weekend, to taste the wine. I didn't not care for any of them. I was thinking of doing that for a favor. Maybe I am just not into dry wines. I wanted to use Trader Joe's to save money, but I think I rather spend the $625.00 for 75 bottles of something that taste good.

We are probably doing a donation. We are both too picky and nothing seems good enough or in our budget. If we could afford it we would have done wine bottles from Trader Joes.
Wouldn't you rather give the money to people who really need it?????
I think it's VERY VERY VERY NICE to donate to charities, but I don't think favors are the right way to do it. Favors are meant to be a thank you to the people who came to celebrate with you.
If I'm going to donate to a charity I'm going to donate something that's mine, not something that was meant to be a gift to someone else... maybe money that could have gone to personalized napkins/photobooth/flip-flops/any other unnecessary extra. OR even donate some of the cash gifts I received.
I have to disagree. Usually (nobody yell at me- I'm being honest) I either 'forget' the favor or throw it away. Donations are nice because they are put to do use by an honorable cause. I've been to two weddings that did this and I thought it was really nice. I'm doing an edible favor because FH has honeybees and we are packaging our own honey that we (he) collected and we bottled because it is both edible and personal.

I've never tried their wine but try to be aware of the fact that some people reading your post are using it for their favors. You should go to Bottles and Cases in Huntington. I don't know how much you want to spend but we got two cases of Pinar Winter White for $4 a bottle to put in OOT bags

Re: Favor ideas
ITA the donations are usually personal - 'In Lieu of party favors.....' My cousin was in a terrible accident and donated money to Nassau Medical center - they saved her life! She wanted to give back to them....For me myself, my father, my aunt and my grandmother - we are all cancer survivors - so donating money the American Cancer Society - or to a specific cancer group would be meaningful...the thank you to your guests is that you are alive and well celebrating with them!!! Well in my case anyway.....
