Look no matter what you pick out, someone isn't going to like. If you get chocolates you'll have that aunt who is diabetic, that cousin who doesn't eat sugar and that friend who just hates it. If you get kitchen items you'll have people who have them already. If you give anything someone will complain. So give out what you think is nice, and forget what people think. Its a gift from you, and that should be all that matters. I'm giving out CDs of Renaissance music. I know my friends will love them, and some of my family will too. Those who don't will just throw them out. Why not give out small plant, like an herb. They smell sweet and people could use them for cooking. I'll be a hit with women and older guest. I had gotten a plant for voulenteering that was thyme. And they put a little note saying 'thank you for your tyme.'

ok???

anyhow, I appricate the help, but we don't really want to give out an herb. And I know not everyone going to like it, I was just looking for a little help. I like the measuring spoons. We though about ice cream scoops, but FI's best man just got married and gave those. We don't want to do the same favors as our friends, which was ornaments, wine, coasters, godiva pieces, icre cream scoop, and soaps.

I actually think this is kind of cute and different. though if I could get an herb plant, I would probably want basil.

my friend gave out really cute small photo albums that she picked up from Things Remembered- which doesn't seem to be on your list...it's hard when you're friends seem to have done so much. I'm lucky to be the first...now they have to be more creative than me!

good luck.

I just decided yesterday that we're doing the personalized M&M's. Each guest will get a small bag with about 20 M&M's in it. If they don't like chocolate they can give it to someone who does (I'm really not into the favor-thing, in general).

All totaled for 150 guests, it will cost me under $140 (candies and organza bags).

the herb idea is different! I like it! Along the same lines, you could do a flower/seed packet...they have some really pretty ones , you could put them in terracotta pots, not the SMALL ones, but the larger ones,

its all about presentation!

Good luck, i know favors made me crazy for a while, but emberlynn is right, NOT everyone will love your favor, so do what YOU love!

I wasn't trying to sound rude. I just know how stressful a wedding favor can be. Some brides go nuts because of all the details I've explained.

well based on the poll, its looks like most people like chocolates. This brings me to my next question, if we get lindt truffles, how many is appropiate to give to each person??

Thanks

Maybe four or five. Put them in a small box or nicknack.
