Hi girls, I need an opinion. ..again. I thought I was all set with my favors. Ordered these cute little tie string satin bags on Ebay that are personalized with our names and date. I figured I would fill them with Jelly Belly Jelly Beans ( my favorite) and call it a day. I am not crafty nor the 'party planner' type so this has all been quite overwhelming. The bags were pretty and I thought a nice touch..because how many bottle openers or coasters can you have? One of my bridesmaids then mentioned to me tonight that she didn't want to do any kind of edible favor/candy for my shower since that was cheesy. I told her I thought any favor they used for the shower was perfect!!! She'd be upset to know that now I'm stressing that my favor might be considered cheap or cheesy. Should I get something in addition to what we have? If so...what will go with jelly beans? Ahhhh...
I didn't get the candy yet, only the bags. So I guess I could find a small favor to put inside the bag if it is ruled 'cheesy'.
edible favors are they best because they usually dont colect dust in a corner somewhere!!! i say use them

Thanks...I love jelly beans and thought the bags were cute but I wouldn't say the favor was all that special to me. To be honest, I'm planning my wedding in only a few months and that was the least of my worries. I just didn't see anything else I really liked other than bottles of wine but that was too much money and I thought that this was a perfectly fine favor.
I def don't want it to be perceived as 'cheap' or cheesy by my guests though. So I guess I'm just wondering what the overall opinion is on that. I don't care what just ONE person thinks but if most people would agree with that, I will get something else to go inside the bags other than candy. What..I don't know..LOL but I'll find something else.

I LOVE those bags!!! What color did you get them in? They are adorable! And jelly beans are yummy! I like edible favors because you can eat them and everyone usually does! How many favors have you gotten from people's weddings that you never ever use? At least with yours you can eat them! I don't think it is cheesy at all! I'm doing a donation most likely and then also giving out hershey kisses. Don't feel bad and do what YOU want because it is YOUR wedding!!!

Go with the jelly beans or another edible favor in your bags!
Don't mind what your BM said. My Matron on Honor says some off the cuff things from time to time. I don't even think they realize what comes out of their mouths sometimes. I just blow it off.

I LOVE edible favors, they are by no means cheesy!!!!!!!!!
You can put anything in those bags, mini chocolates, wrapped truffles, kisses, almonds, etc Not everyone is going to love yourfavor, but most people will appreciate something edible!

edible favors are always a great idea- everyone will actually use them- the satin bag also adds a nice touch- many women can use them afterwards to put a mini mirror in or some jewlery or even loose change and leave it in the car- i wouldnt change anything about it!
