Set of 6 silverplated coasters, but with a different etched design.

My mom once had this exact same coaster set and it was a pain in the arse because it had to be polished all the time or they looked yucky! They tarnish very quickly. Other than the tarnish factor I think they are great!

I figure I can't please all my guests at the wedding and these just seem like the best option.

As for the tarnish factor, the guests can throw them away once that starts happening.

Other options were/are:
-a wine coaster w/bottle stopper
-frame
-silver serving trays (but we figured they were too bulky)

Ooh...I guess I should state the real driving force behind the favor...I can get them for $3. (I won't be offended if the guests throw them away. )

I just want something that makes a nice presentation and has the potential to be semi-functional.

I did nto mean to offend- just being honest. If you are looking for something that makes a nice presentation, then go for it- they definetly do!

I like them. Would you be giving one per person or per couple? I am always against one per couple gifts ( no offense to anyone) since people get petty and it's not a pretty picture

Currently it's per couple. Most of the guests invited are married and I don't know many men who get excited over favors.

I think 1 per couple is fine...but you know your guest..i feel if they are a couple,,,married - they only need one, dating - chances are you are only friendly with one (the other is there as date)

And I agree, I don't think guys really seem to care much about favors
