Hey Everyone! FH and I have been trying to figure out what to do about favors. I want to do them and in the same sense not do them. I have been noticing that more and more bridal couples are donating to charity instead of handing out wedding favors. What is your take on it. Favors or Donations?? HELP
Do you need to hand out favors or in today's day and age are donations ok ??
my cousin did donations, they put a little note with a few red hershey kisses (christmastime wedding) that said in lieu of a favor we have made a donation in your name to (name charity here). I think its great...

Re: Favor vs Donations
we are going to be doing a donation towards breast cancer research. Also we are doing a candy bar towards the end, that way guests feel like they are actually taking something home with them.

Re: Favor vs Donations
I don't think you have to do favors, i think doing a donation with a little card is a great idea

Re: Favor vs Donations
Do whatever makes you comfortable. If there is an organization you feel good about go right ahead. It's a wonderful idea.

Really whatever you want, i don't think it matters, people now know about donation favors, so i don't think its a problem, i like the idea.

Re: Favor vs Donations
i love the idea of donating. i considered doing this as a favor but im still torn on what to do.
however i do feel if you give a donataion to at least give a little something, like some candy or something to attach to the donation card.

Re: Favor vs Donations
I am definitely leaning to donations rather than favors. IMO If the favor is not something edible or something usable, like matches, I think most people might just throw it away.

Re: Favor vs Donations
I love the idea of donations plus a little something...maybe a bag of candy with a ribbon that says your names and the date...

Re: Favor vs Donations
We are doing a donation but putting the card that says we are donating something in a frame, which they can take home. I got 100 frames on ebay for about $40.

Re: Favor vs Donations
donations are very popular now... its better than spending money on something else that will get stashed in a drawer somewhere
