When I am teaching, I find myself sarcastically saying to my classes 'Now, don't get too excited, but today, we're gonna learn about _________(fill in the blank with any number of boring topics)' They know they're in for it then. As for the rest of my life, I can't just say yes, I have to say 'Oh my god, yeah'. In one quick swoop.
