Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I'm so excited - FI just told me he's taking me away for my bday in a few weeks. I haven't been to Cancun in years (from my spring break days - LOL) - please let me know your favorite hotels!

thanks,
Donna

I only went once and we stayed at the Calinda Beach. It was nice.

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

We stayed at the Melia Turquesa and it was great. Definately one of the nicer more-adult like hotels there.

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I stayed at the Carribean Village. Its an Allegro resort. I had a blast. Everything was great. Its an all inclusive and the food was really good.

They have a swim up bar, a BBQ on the beach, a guy walking around with a tray of fruit, another guy always bringing you drinks.

I had a blast at that hotel

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I loved the Shearton Resort & towers. We stayed in the towers and had butler service on the beach--they brought us drinks into the water. I need to scan pics.

Be careful! some hotels do not have beach in front of them from the hurricane yrs ago.

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I have stayed at the marriot and was not too impressed.

I have heard great things about the Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun.

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I've been there 4 times. My favorite hotel is the Fiesta Americana Condesa. It was more adult. Also another nice one is the Gran Melia Cancun. I send lots of clients to the Marriott Casa Magna, the JW Marriott and the Hilton. If you want to get away from the strip of Cancun, go to the Riveria Maya area of Cancun. It is about 45 minutes south of the airport (so it is not a quick drive if you want to go to the bars in Cancun). The Occidental Royal Hideaway is beautiful and so is the Aventura Spa Palace.

Have a great time!!

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I stayed at Fiesta Americana Cancun. It was nice but it was all families with small children (4 and 5 year olds in a pool make me not want to go in!) so I didn't feel comfortable being my usual obnoxious foul-mouthed self . But the other ones, Fiesta Americana Condesa and Fiesta Americana Coral Beach are really nice (and fewer children, I believe).

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I have been there 4 times & stayed twice at the Continental VIllas Plaza, it is close to Sr. Frogs (walking distance) and yet out of the busy 'downtown' area. The beach is small, but very nice and the room is BIG. IT is also quite reasonable. I believe it is next to the Melia Turquesa. I also stayed at the oh snappp...I forget its name, but it was an all inclusive near the end of the strip. I could not believe how much they have built the place up since the last time I was down there!

Have fun!!!

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I haven't been there in years...but the two times I did go we stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers. Very very nice...and the first time I went (was 20 years old)...they messed up our rooms big time and we got an awesome suite...we had a HUGE living room that went to waste...we were NEVER in our room!!!!

Re: Favorite hotel in Cancun?

I stayed at the Moon Palace about two years ago with my FH and we absolutely loved it. It is all inclusive and there are about 10 different restaurants, swim up bars, shows or entertainment every night. It is not right in the down town area, it is about 25 minutes outside of the town, but there is bus and taxi service to take you to the down town area.
