I have to pick hors d’oeuvres to be served butler-style at my CH. And I can basically request anything . . . but I'm not sure what my guests will like.
What have you guys like best at weddings you've attended? Past brides -- what went over best at your wedding?
Here's some on my list so far -minature lamb chops -baked clams -fried zucchini -croque monsieur (I'm told these are likemini rueben sandwiches) -scallops wrapped in bacon -assorted puff hors d’oeuvres -shrimp cocktail -chicken/beef strips (julienne or satay) -baby tomatoes stuffed with ricotta cheese
TIA!!!

PIGS in a blanket!! They may not be considered 'classy', but I think that they are probably everyones fav!! I know they are in my family anyway! Also, although I don't eat them - baby lamb chops seem to be a big hit as well.
I agree!!!

I so wanted the baby lamb chops but my FH was really against them for some unknown reason. Seeing as I've done everything else my way, I gave in to him.
This is what we ended up going with... - Beef Rouladen with Herb Cheese - Smoked Scottish Salmon on Melba - Blini with Creme Fraiche & Caviar - Mesquite Smoked Turkey with Cranberry Relish - Miniature Duck Strudel - Niga Maki Sliced Beef, Scallion and Soy Ginger Sauce - Baked Clams with Cornbread and Tasso Ham - Chicken Strips with Sesame
ETA: I fried zucchini sticks

It's up to you, but just a suggestion: keep the baby lamb chops and let FI choose 1 or 2 items on his own. If FI doesn't want the lamb chops, he doesn't have to have them. I won't eat the things I don't like at our wedding, but sometimes in choosing the menu, you need to consider all of your guests and what most of them will eat. The lamb chops will be a really popular dish and will probably go over better than some of the other things you chose. You may even be too busy during the cocktail hour to eat. No matter what you choose, I'm sure the food will be a hit.

I love scallops wrapped in bacon. The most interesting thing I've seen at a wedding recently though was a chilled raspberry soup served in a shot glass -- it was basically like sorbet soup with a little dollop of whipped cream on top. It was great!
I've also seen gazpacho in espresso cups...it was very nice.

I know from my own family that EVERYONE raves when there are those mini lamb chops. I don't eat meat, so i can't confirm that, but I trust the fam.!
I can confirm that!! Right after the ceremony, they brought them into the bridal suite. I asked them to tie a table cloth around my neck to protect my dress and bring me trays of those babies!
