Favorite Songs...

Maybe we've done this before .. but .. I'm looking for ideas for a project I'm working on .. so .. what's everyone's favorite songs???

Title & Artist if possible, please.

I have a whole bunch! I can't pick just one! Many are by obscure indie artists:

ANYTHING by Modest Mouse (particularly the 'Long Drive...' album)
Jejune - That's Why She Hates Me
Jimmy Eat World - Sweetness
Three Mile Pilot - Way of the Ocean, Longest Day
Elliott Smith - XO, Because (cover)
Just about anything by Union of Uranus
Refused - Gotta Be Dead (don't know the real title)
Sleater Kinney - Dig Me Out
The Rapture - Heaven
Just about anything by Jack Johnson
Just about anything by Radiohead
Bjork - Violently Happy
King Harvest - Dancing in the Moonlight
REM - Nightswimming
Leeann Womak - I Hope You Dance
James Taylor - Mexico, Sweet Baby James
Josh Groban - Where you are
U2 - With or Without You, Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Led Zeppelin - Thank You (my wedding song!)

That's all for now! Do I have to pick just one?!

Hmm ... well, Julz33's favorite song is One Night In Bangkok!!! And I just had a brain fart on the artist!!!

I have so many ... I'm gonna have to work on a list & get back to you!! They are so diverse, it's hard to just spurt them out.

Do we have to pick just one? I can't!

Elliott Smith: 'Waltz #2 (XO)'
Procol Harum: 'Whiter Shade of Pale'
Talib Kweli: 'Get By'
Stevie Wonder: 'Golden Lady'
Pet Shop Boys: 'Rent'
Tricky: 'Pumpkin'
Kristin Hersh: 'Velvet Days'

Otis Redding: 'Try a Little Tenderness'
Depeche Mode: 'Shake the Disease'
Tribe Called Quest: 'Electric Relaxation'
Prefab Sprout: 'Appetite'
Prince: 'Nothing Compares 2 U'
REM: 'Fall on Me'
and...

...Night Ranger: 'Sister Christian'

ETA: I can't believe I forgot Elvis Costello! It's his birthday today! My favorite EC song is probably 'Riot Act.' Or maybe 'Party Girl.' I am really indecisive today.

These Arms of Mine - Otis REdding
Tiny Dancer, Guess that's Why the Call it the Blues - Elton John
Let's Stay Together - Al Green
Amazed - Wings
Into Your Arms - Lemonheads

Me too! I've got a ton of live MP3s of him doing cover songs. Horrible recordings but some great covers! You can tell some guy was standing in the audience with a cheap tape recorder taping it, then converting it to MP3. I think XO is still my favorite album but I am looking forward to the newest one.

bump .. I'm looking for lots of ideas .. from a wide variety of music ..

anyone else???
