Is anyone thinking about their favors yet? If so, got any ideas? I'm worried that I didn't budget enough money for these and I don't want anything cheesy!???

Re: FAVORS
I am planning on doing personalized wine bottles. Not sure of pricing but want to give something out that hopefully won't just collect dust!

Re: FAVORS
I did the personalized wine Mini bottles for my engagement party....They were $48 for a case of 24..If you order 2 or more cases then the writing on the bottle is free and you get to pick the saying. They can decorate it for you too but it was double the price to decorate...I decorated it myself

Re: FAVORS
I went to the liquor store near my house (I live in Staten Island) I'm sure that most of the big liquor stores have them you just gotta go in and ask.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of. We spend money and people just don't use and eventually just get rid of. I don't want it to be a waste or just collecting dust!

Re: FAVORS
We are doing scratch off tickets. We have a tradition, in my family and my circle of friends, of giving lottery tickets for birthdays and other special events. I'm sure we won't have one left over, and it will only cost a bucks each, plus a little envelope and a shiny penny. :)

Re: FAVORS
I'm doing wine bottle topers. They are silver, come in a black velvet pouch and a white box. All I'll have to do it get ribbon to tie around the boxes. I'm getting the for about $2 per toper plus shipping and tax.
At the wedding of the year, they gave out cute cheese graters. I would imagine they would not be expensive, but still cute!
I've also see salt and pepper shakers. Personally I'd rather give something practical that they may use or wine is always nice! Or donations to your fav. charity. One wedding I went to did this we each got pins on a card explaining a donation had been made in our name.

This is such a great idea but I think my FH would just die if someone hit the big one and it wasn't him! He would NEVER let me live it down!

Re: FAVORS
We are going to do a donation and have bookmarks placed at each place setting with the following wording:
Our Family and Friends
With much thought and consideration, We have chosen a special way to say ?Thank You? for sharing our wedding day with us.
In lieu of a traditional wedding favor, We have made a donation in your honor to ___________
We feel the finest gift is one which helps others live longer and healthier lives.
All Our Love, Jodi & Todd March 26, 2006
We have not decided which charity yet. Also I am going to use little picture frames as place holders.

Re: FAVORS
Oh my goodness, Jodi! I LOVE what you wrote! Did you write that saying yourself? It's funny... I was going to bounce this idea off everyone tonight!! My FH and I decided that we would also give picture frames as the place card holders. And we are going to donate money to charity, either the Lance Armstrong Foundation or the American Cancer Society. We have also thought about giving each guest a Lance Armstrong 'Live Strong' bracelet (which we both wear every day). My FH was diagnosed with testicular cancer in Oct. 2004 and only went back to work last week after 2 major surgeries (and lucky! no chemo). We wanted to do something special and meaningful and hoepfully find a cure to his disease!
This is also why we need wedding insurance!

Re: FAVORS
First off I would like to say that the donation favor is a great great idea.
My favors are picture frames which will be used as the place card holders also. I am also doing a mini poetry book with love poems and pics of me and my FH. My FMIL is making them for us.

Re: FAVORS
Kelly I totally agree with you I don't want to give a favor that will collect dust. I am going to do a christmas ornament or a personalized bottle of wine. If I can get them at good prices I can actually hopefully do both.
