I'm a little confused with how many favors I need. I know that it's supposed to be one favor per couple but what happens if it's a family. I can only assume small children don't get one but is their seat just left empty?

Re: Favors
doesn't it depend on what you're giving them? if it's edible i would assume everybody should get their own edible favor?
if it's something like a useful trinket (salt and pepper set, etc.) - one should do.

Re: Favors
The tradition with my family is that you give one per family UNLESS.....there is a couple (BF/GF, engaged, etc.) that areclose to you. In that case you give one to them also.

Re: Favors
It really depends on the cost and type of favors.
For example I am having little quilted heart shape boxes filled with m&ms for each person (too small for a couple/family). In additon, I have some nice votive holders but it's only one per couple/family.
If you wanted to a wine bottle, I would only do one per couple/family. You cannot worry about the kids. Only one in my BP are getting toys/gifts.
